Psalms 20

1The church prayeth for the king's good success in the day of trouble, 6and expresseth a confidence in God's succour.


0 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

    1 THE aLORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the bname of the God of Jacob 1defend thee;

    2 Send 2thee help from cthe sanctuary, and 3strengthen thee dout of Zion;

    3 Remember all thy offerings, and 4accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.

    4 eGrant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.

    5 We will frejoice in thy salvation, and gin the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.

    6 Now know I that hthe LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him 5from his holy heaven 6with the saving strength of his right hand.

    7 Some itrust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will jremember the name of the LORD our God.

    8 They kare brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

    9 lSave, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.
