Colossians 3

The apostle exhorteth to be heavenly minded, 5to mortify carnal lusts, and to put away all malice and ill dealing in respect of one another, as becometh Christians; 12he recommendeth brotherly kindness, charity, and other general duties. 18The relative duties of wives, 19and husbands: 20of children, 21and parents: 22and of servants toward their masters.

IF aye then be risen with Christ, bseek those things which are above, where cChrist sitteth on the right hand of God.

dSet your 1affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

For eye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

When Christ, who fis our life, shall appear, then shall ye also gappear with him in glory.

h*Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil *concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

iFor which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the jchildren of disobedience:

kIn the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

But now ye also lput off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

mLie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

And nhave put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

oWhere there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, *Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but pChrist is all, and in all.

qPut on therefore, as the relect of God, holy and beloved, s*bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

tForbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a 2quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

And uabove all these things put on *charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

And let vthe peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called win one body; and be ye thankful.

xLet the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; yteaching and admonishing one another in zpsalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

And awhatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

bWives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

cHusbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

dChildren, obey your parents in eall things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

fFathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

gServants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

hAnd whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

iKnowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of jthe inheritance: for kye serve the Lord Christ.

lBut he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and mthere is no respect of persons.
