Hebrews 3

Christ is shewed to be more worthy than Moses: 7we must be careful therefore not to follow the example of the obstinate and unbelieving Israelites in the wilderness.

aWHEREFORE, bholy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider cthe Apostle and High Priest of our dprofession, Christ Jesus;

Who was efaithful to him that 1appointed him, as also fMoses was faithful in all his house.

gFor this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

For every house is builded by some man; but he that hbuilt all things is God.

And iMoses *verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

But Christ jas a son over his own house; kwhose house are we, lif we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing mof the hope firm unto the end.

nWherefore (as the Holy *Ghost saith, oTo day if ye will hear his voice,

pHarden not your hearts, qas in the *provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

rWhen your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

sWherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

So I tsware in my wrath, 2They shall not enter into my rest.)

uTake heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

But vexhort one another daily, while it is called To day; wlest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

For we are made xpartakers of Christ, yif we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

While it is said, zTo day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the *provocation.

aFor some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit bnot all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with cthem that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, dbut to them that believed not?

So we see that ethey could not enter in because of unbelief.
