Psalms 104

A meditation upon the majesty, power, and wonderful providence of God. 31God's glory is eternal. 33The prophet voweth to praise God perpetually.

BLESS the aLORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, bthou art very great; cthou art clothed with honour and majesty.

Who coverest thyself dwith light as with a garment: ewho stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

Who flayeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: gwho maketh the clouds his chariot: hwho walketh upon the wings of the wind:

Who imaketh his angels spirits; his jministers a flaming fire:

1Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

Thou kcoveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

lAt thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

2They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.

  • 2: Or, The mountains ascend, the valleys descend.

Thou mhast set na bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

3He osendeth the springs into the valleys, which 4run among the hills.

  • 3: Heb. Who.
  • o: De. 8:7
  • 4: Heb. walk.

They pgive drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses 5quench their thirst.

By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which 6sing among the branches.

He qwatereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

He rcauseth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

And swine that tmaketh glad the heart of man, and 7oil to make his face to shine, and ubread which strengtheneth man's heart.

The vtrees of the LORD are full of sap; wthe cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;

xWhere the birds make their nests: as for the stork, ythe fir trees are her house.

The zhigh hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for athe *conies.

He bappointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

Thou cmakest darkness, and it is night: wherein 8all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.

The dyoung lions roar after their prey, and seek their *meat from God.

The esun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.

fMan goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.

O LORD, ghow manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of hthy riches.

So is ithis great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.

jThere go the ships: there is that k*leviathan, whom thou hast 9made to play therein.

lThese wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their *meat in due season.

That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.

Thou mhidest thy face, they are troubled: nthou takest away their breath, they die, and oreturn to their dust.

Thou psendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou qrenewest the face of the earth.

The rglory of the LORD 10shall endure for ever: sthe LORD shall rejoice in his works.

He tlooketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.

I uwill sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

vMy meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

Let wthe sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. xBless thou the LORD, O my soul. 11Praise ye the LORD.
