Psalms 111

1The Psalmist by his example inciteth others to praise God for his glorious and gracious works. 10The fear of God is the source of true wisdom.


1 PRAISE1 ye the LORD. aI will praise the LORD with my whole heart, bin the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

2 The cworks of the LORD are great, dsought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

3 eHis work is honourable and glorious: and fhis righteousness endureth for ever.

4 He ghath made his wonderful works to be remembered: hthe LORD is gracious and full of compassion.

5 He ihath given 2meat unto them that fear him: jhe will ever be mindful of his covenant.

6 He khath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

7 The lworks of his hands are verity and judgment; mall his commandments are sure.

8 They 3stand fast for ever and ever, and are done nin truth and uprightness.

9 oHe sent redemption unto his people: phe hath commanded his covenant for ever: qholy and reverend is his name.

10 rThe fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: sa 4good understanding have all they 5that do his commandments: this praise endureth for ever.
