Psalms 116

The Psalmist professeth love and dutiful service to God in return for his deliverance: 12he studieth to express his thankfulness fitly.

I LOVE athe LORD, because bhe hath heard my voice and my supplications.

Because che hath dinclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him 1as long as I live.

The esorrows of death *compassed me, and the pains of hell 2*gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

Then fcalled I upon the name of the LORD; gO LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

hGracious is the LORD, and irighteous; yea, our God is merciful.

The jLORD preserveth the k*simple: lI was brought low, and he helped me.

mReturn unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.

For nthou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

I owill walk before the LORD pin the land of the living.

I qbelieved, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:

I rsaid in my haste, All men are liars.

sWhat shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

I twill take the ucup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

I vwill pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

wPrecious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

O LORD, xtruly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

I ywill offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, zand will call upon the name of the LORD.

I awill pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,

In bthe courts of the LORD's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. cPraise ye the LORD.
