Psalms 129

1God's goodness in saving Israel out of their great afflictions. 5A prayer against the enemies of the church.

0 aA Song of degrees.

1 MANY1 a time have they afflicted me from bmy youth, cmay Israel now say:

2 2Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet dthey have not prevailed against me.

3 The eplowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.

4 The fLORD is righteous: he hath cut *asunder the gcords of the wicked.

6 iLet them be jas the grass upon the housetops, which withereth *afore it groweth up:

7 Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

8 Neither do they which go by say, kThe blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.
