Psalms 137

The constant affection of the Jews in captivity to their desolate country. 7Edom and Babylon are cursed.

BY athe rivers of Babylon, there we bsat down, yea, we wept, when cwe remembered Zion.

We dhanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

For ethere they that carried us away captive *required of us 1a song; and they that 2wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

How fshall we sing the LORD's song in a 3*strange land?

If gI forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her *cunning.

If I do not remember thee, let my htongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; iif I prefer not Jerusalem above 4my chief joy.

jRemember, O LORD, kthe chil-dren of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, 5*Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.

O daughter of Babylon, lwho art to be 6destroyed; happy shall he be, 7that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

Happy shall he be, that taketh and mdasheth thy little ones against 8the stones.
