Psalms 149

1The Prophet exhorteth to praise God for his love to the church, 5and for that power which he hath given to his saints.


1 PRAISE1 ye the LORD. aSing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise bin the congregation of saints.

2 cLet Israel rejoice in him that dmade him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their eKing.

3 fLet them praise his name 2in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the *timbrel and harp.

4 For gthe LORD taketh pleasure in his people: hhe will beautify the meek with salvation.

5 iLet the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud jupon their beds.

6 Let kthe high praises of God be in their 3mouth, and a ltwoedged sword in their hand;

7 To mexecute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with *fetters of iron;

  • *: fetters-shackles, metal bands.

9 To nexecute upon them the judgment owritten: pthis honour have all his saints. qPraise ye the LORD.
