To the chief Musician upon Jonath-elem-rechokim, 1Michtam of David, when the aPhilistines took him in Gath.

BE bmerciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.

2Mine enemies would daily cswallow me up: for they be dmany that fight against me, O ethou most High.

What ftime I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

In gGod I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; hI will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Every day ithey *wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.

They jgather themselves together, they hide themselves, kthey mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.

Shall lthey escape by iniquity? in thine anger mcast down the people, O God.

Thou ntellest my wanderings: oput thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

When pI cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; qfor God is for me.

In rGod will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.

In sGod have I put my trust: tI will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

Thy uvows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

For vthou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in wthe light of the living?
