Psalms 62

1David professing his confidence in God discourageth his enemies. 5In the same confidence he encourageth the godly. 9No trust is to be put in worldly things. 11Power and mercy belong to God.


0 To the chief Musician, to aJeduthun, A Psalm of David.

1 TRULY1 my bsoul 2waiteth upon God: cfrom him cometh my salvation.

2 He donly is my rock and my salvation; he is my 3defence; I eshall not be greatly moved.

3 How flong will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: gas a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

4 They honly consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse 4inwardly. Selah.

5 My soul, iwait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

6 He jonly is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; kI shall not be moved.

7 In God is my salvation and lmy glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8 mTrust in him at all times; ye people, npour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9 Surely omen of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a plie: to be laid in the balance, they are 5altogether lighter than vanity.

10 Trust qnot in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: rif riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11 God shath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that 6power belongeth unto God.

12 Also unto thee, O Lord, tbelongeth mercy: for uthou renderest to every man according to his work.
